NORWEGIAN WOOD
Book cover designed for The Penguin Student Design Awards 2019, Adult Fiction category.
The Imagery behind this book first started out as a relief print of a burnt tree slice. Then was digitally enhanced with adding the red circle to represent the setting of the book in Japan. The red print behind the black is to represent the imperfections human beings deal with. Also, the butterfly on the back symbolises one of the main characters in the book, Midori.
Furthermore, after this project was completed I decided to use the wood print as part of my branding and logo.
